In this weekly post, I share with you my most interesting discoveries of the week, including the latest news on the fronts of fitness, nutrition, health, wellness, biohacking, and anti-aging research. I also recap my upcoming events and special announcements so you can keep up with opportunities to learn, giveaways, discounts, and more!

But I also know plenty of you have requested quick access to specific routines, protocols, and hacks.

So I created exactly that: a new YouTube channel focused purely on educational content.

This is separate from my Ben Greenfield Life YouTube channel, which will keep delivering the long-form podcast conversations you’re used to and more. Think of this new channel as the fast track to the tactics.

I’d also love to hear what topics you want me to cover on YouTube, so drop a comment and let me know.

If you’ve already learned how to reverse sear, smoke, grill, air fry, and sauté your steaks, and now you’re looking for a NEW, creative way to cook them, try this one on for size: sous vide.

My recipe for these mouthwatering bone-in, French-cut ribeyes from US Wellness Meats (use code BEN to save 15% off) is simple:

  1. Thaw and pat your steaks dry, then place them in a Stasher sous vide bag. I typically do this a few hours before cooking so they have time to marinate in the seasonings.
  2. Season generously with extra-virgin olive oil, hot sauce (I’ve collaborated with Joey’s!), salt, and pepper.
  3. Sous vide using a Joule wand for about 2 hours at 129°F.
  4. Remove the steaks and pour all the juices into a separate pot to make your “gravy.”
  5. Heat a cast-iron skillet until it’s smoking hot, then finish the steaks with a 90-second sear per side.
  6. Whisk a tablespoon of flour, cornstarch, or arrowroot into the juices over low heat until the gravy thickens.
  7. Rest the steaks for five minutes, drizzle with the gravy, and serve.

Who else is a fan of sous vide? Drop your favorite tips in the comments below, and let me know if you try this one!

P.S. For those of you concerned about cooking sous vide in plastic, the Stasher bag I use isn’t a conventional plastic bag. It’s made from platinum-cured, food-grade silicone and contains no BPA, PVC, or latex. Stasher says its silicone bags can withstand temperatures up to 425°F—far above the 129°F used for this recipe.

Join Me Live in Austin for the Last Boundless Film Premiere & Podcast + Q&A Before It Hits Streaming Services 🎬

Next week, Boundless: The Man Who Became Human arrives in Austin for the final live screening before the film hits streaming services.

For one night only, on Thursday, August 20th, my family and I will be at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema South Lamar.

Tickets are still available for a limited time here.

We’ll watch the film together, followed by a live recording of the Boundless Life podcast and an open Q&A.

And if you want an elevated experience, you can upgrade to a VIP ticket and join us afterward at Devil May Care Lounge, an intimate underground space where we’ll gather over Mediterranean-inspired small plates made without seed oils or refined sugars.

Just look for “VIP Ticket: Film + Afterparty at Devil May Care” at checkout here.

This is your last chance to experience Boundless on the big screen with my family and me before its streaming release, so if you’re anywhere near Austin, I’d love to see you there.

Can’t make it to Austin? You can pre-order Boundless on Apple TV now and be among the first to watch it when it arrives on streaming services.

This Week in Health & Performance: What the Latest Research Says

💪❤️ Stronger Muscles May Protect Your Heart—Even If You Have Atherosclerosis: Here’s another reason not to neglect strength training. New research suggests that greater skeletal muscle strength may be protective against heart attack, even among people with coronary artery calcification or other signs of atherosclerosis. In other words, what’s happening in your arteries matters, but your muscular strength may be another important piece of the cardiovascular-risk puzzle (read more here).

🧠🏋️ Can Electrically Stimulating Your Brain Before Training Make You Stronger? Research suggests that transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS)—which delivers a weak electrical current to the brain through electrodes placed on the scalp—may acutely improve strength when used before resistance training. It’s fascinating, and several studies have reported performance benefits. But here’s my question: Would you get even stronger if you spent those 15 minutes attaching electrodes to your head simply doing a couple of extra sets instead? 🙂 (full study here).

🧬⚡ NAD+ Does A Whole Lot More Than “Anti-Aging”: NAD+ is usually discussed as a longevity molecule, but its biological importance runs much deeper. New research is highlighting a relationship between NAD+, cellular acidity, and the way cells respond to metabolic stress. Because NAD+ is deeply involved in energy metabolism, redox balance, and cellular repair, changes in its availability may influence how cells maintain their internal environment when under stress—another reason this molecule deserves attention beyond the usual anti-aging hype (read more here).

💉🌿 Could GLP-1s Help With Mast Cell Activation & Histamine Intolerance? Here’s an intriguing development for people dealing with mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) or histamine-related symptoms such as bloating and brain fog after meals. Emerging research suggests GLP-1 receptor agonists may help reduce mast-cell-related symptoms in some patients. It’s early evidence, not proof that GLP-1s are a treatment for MCAS, but it opens up an interesting new avenue for research into how these drugs influence inflammation and immune signaling beyond appetite and blood sugar (full study here).

Key Takeaway: Your muscles may be doing more for your heart than you realize, brain stimulation could offer an intriguing performance boost, NAD+ plays a much deeper role in cellular biology than the longevity headlines suggest, and GLP-1s may have effects on immune and mast cell signaling that we’re only beginning to understand.

Product Of The Week

::: Digital Gummies: Experience the Instant Relaxation of THC & CBD, Delivered Through Frequency (+ Save $50) :::

Swallowing a chewable edible to unwind is an outdated mechanism.

Stress isn’t just in your head—it shows up as racing thoughts, tight shoulders, and a nervous system that won’t switch off.

But waiting 45 minutes for a THC or CBD gummy to pass through your gut comes with digestive lag, sugar, and a lingering chemical half-life.

The Harmoniq Limitless Neckband offers a direct, signal-based alternative. Using ultra-low frequency magnetic signaling, its “Gummies” signal digitally mimics the exact molecular signatures of THC and CBD straight to your receptors. No digestion. No waiting. No liver load. Your body receives the frequency in an instant.

Simply select the “Gummies” signal in the app, place the neckband around your neck or site of physical strain, and make deep relaxation available on demand whenever you need to reset.

If you want to upgrade your routine with pure physics, you can save $50 off Harmoniq here (includes a 45-day money-back guarantee).
